Water Supply Project

Kanembwe, Rwanda

The community of Kanembwe Batwa are requesting technical and funding support to improve access to clean and reliable water for a community of 2,300+ in rural Rwanda.

In December 2025 the Rwanda project was awarded a $75,000 Rotary Global Grant. Thanks to the generous support from our partner Rotary Clubs of Kivu Lake and Greater Clark County, along with many other clubs supporting we have successfully met the fundraising needs for this project. With this grant construction was able to start in January 2026 and is scheduled for completion in Early April 2026. A team of EWB-Portland members is planning to travel in September 2026 to monitor and evaluate the system to ensure it was constructed in compliance with the engineered drawings. We are excited to be on track for project completion by the end of this year, 2026!
