Volunteers Needed: Demonstration-scale Technology Team

EWB Portland is initiating a local effort to create demonstration-scale models of the appropriate technologies that form the foundation our international projects.  We have some funding lined up that will allow us to create a high-quality suite of demonstrations for use in schools and at events.  We might just learn something about these technologies at the same time!  Ideas for projects include:

  • Solar demos
  • Wind power demos
  • Water treatment and supply demos
  • Composting toilet demo (non-working model!) and sanitation education

Expectations

Project team members will be expected to help develop this project and work flexibly with a team to create a valuable suite of projects for the long-term use of EWB and our partner organizations.  The project is expected to initiate in January 2009 and wrap up by the Summer.  Opportunities to show the results off will likely follow!
