Hey all, This is my first attempt at a blog communication chain. Perhaps we can replace our email chains with blog postings? Let's see if it works.

The New York times is doing some very good pieces on Haiti these days.  In this time of economic hardship at home, it is more imporant than ever to remember our neighboring countries.

Please mark your calendars for our April chapter meeting.  We will be joined by Bob Peterson, handyman, businessman and inventor from the Beaverton Rotary Club.  He will present about his organization's work in Uganda and an invention of his, The Peterson Press, which can be used to create fuel briquettes from agricultural waste to augment or replace wood-derived charcoal.  We look forward to seeing you there.

This is a short video about a non-profit in Haiti (www.oursoil.org) that is installing composting toilets in Cap Haitian and vicinity.  An inspiring story!
